Contend For The Faith: A Young Adult Praise & Worship Night
About this Event
Join us on Friday, September 18 as we kick off Young Adult Sabbath with an evening of praise, worship, prayer, fellowship, and food.
Our theme, “Contend for the Faith,” comes from Jude 3, which calls believers to earnestly contend for the faith entrusted to God’s people.
In our current cultural climate, we believe that call is especially relevant. On one hand, Christianity, the Church, and the message of Jesus are increasingly questioned, dismissed, or misunderstood. On the other, we also recognize that Christianity has at times been distorted, used in the pursuit of power, and represented in ways that have caused real harm.
So what does it mean to faithfully contend for the faith today, especially as young adults living in a city as diverse and complex as New York? We believe it means holding firmly to Jesus and the gospel, while having the courage to distinguish authentic Christianity from the ways it can be misused or misrepresented.
We’ll begin Friday evening with 40 minutes of praise and worship, creating space to pour out our hearts in worship to the Lord, followed by prayer and a short message introducing our theme. Afterward, stick around for light refreshments, fellowship, and time to connect.
Whether you’re a young adult, exploring faith, or simply looking for a meaningful way to begin the Sabbath, we’d love to have you join us.
