Contemporary Gilding Workshop and Prosecco Lunch for Mother's Day Sunday

A fabulous Mother's Day Sunday workshop and lunch at Moregeous Mansions with expert craftswoman Amelia Bedson from Amelia Jane Gilding.

This beautiful period home in Fallowfield, South Manchester, hosts many varied events, from Supper Clubs with guest chefs, to Renovation Days, to crafting days with experts. Hosts Sian Astley, TV property project manager and interior designer, and Martin, aka Mr Moregeous, will welcome you into their homely, expertly designed space, to spend the day with our expert and other craft lovers.

You will learn new skills, make new friends and learn the incredible art of Heritage Gilding.

We will also enjoy a delicious lunch and glass of chilled prosecco.

Contemporary Gilding Workshop with Amelia

Learn the art of contemporary gilding, how it has changed over time and how you can use it in your own home to give your possessions the Midas touch!

During the workshop you will learn how to gild a picture frame with Dutch Gold leaf and add your own unique flair to an ornament, object or fresh flower. Items will be provided or you can bring your own special item to gild. Advice will be given in advance on prep needed to your own item.

Your golden picture frame and gilded decoration will make stunning mementos of the day or beautiful gifts for loved ones.

Amelia has a Master's degree in the Conservation of Cultural Heritage and is a gilt frame, objects and decorative surfaces conservator and restorer. She has worked in the Fine Arts sector for over four years restoring and conserving antiques.
