No pre-registration necessary for this FREE event! Students can register the day of the class. Class will consist of barre, center, and contemporary ballet choreography.
Led by UI Visiting Assistant Dance Professor Jenn Pray, a dance artist whose career includes choreography, community-engaged performance, and international touring of solo and ensemble work. Originally from central Iowa, Jenn holds a B.A. with a double major in dance and international studies from the University of Iowa and an M.F.A. in dance from the University of Washington Seattle. Generously hosted by Iowa Ballet Academy, which is owned and directed by Ami Yaro, a 1997 Honors graduate of the University of Iowa in Dance and English, where she received the Dance Department Scholarship. She has performed at The Kennedy Center as a National finalist for the American College Dance Festival, was an instructor and choreographer for Iowa State Center’s Nutcracker, and has been a master teacher at Iowa State University’s Dance Department. She was ballet program director at the Creative Movement Dance Company for nine years.
