Contemplative Photography: A Transformative Inquiry
This contemplative photography practice invites participants to explore the intimate convergence of inner and outer worlds, where nature becomes both mirror and living presence. Framed as an experiential inquiry, the class cultivates receptivity, stillness, and sustained attention, helping us remember our latent gifts, reclaim a sense of wholeness, and recognize the abundance already present within and around us. Open to anyone drawn to photography, nature, and contemplative exploration, the class offers a creative practice for deepening intimacy with the living world. Through careful observation, reflective inquiry, and attentive engagement with the natural environment, participants are invited to meet experience with curiosity and care. Ecological patterns may then begin to illuminate the movements of change, resilience, and interconnectedness within our own lives. Central to the practice is the lens as a living instrument of perception. Photography becomes more than the act of making an image; it becomes a way of listening, entering into relationship, and noticing where the perceived world and the perceiving self meet. Rather than regarding nature as separate scenery, the practice invites us to experience ourselves as within a larger living ecology. In this space, self and world are not approached as isolated realities, but as expressions arising within an interconnected whole. Through this shared inquiry, the class seeks to awaken presence, love, unity, and expanded awareness.
