Containers for the Narrative: Collage & Bookmaking Workshop (Sat Sept. 19))

In this one day workshop, collage and book artist Terry Garret will teach four book structures. These are small and easy and can be addictive. In the photos below, you can see the book structures look like. The plan is to make the books in the morning and fill them with collage. content in the afternoon.
What often happens in book making workshops is that you come home with a nice but empty book. The goal here is to make the books and the content- so story telling is a part of this- Terry will share ways to come up with a narrative.
Terry is drawn to these small structures- you can hold in your hand filled with images that tell a story.
All materials with be provided including stock for the book structures and collage fodder to collage with. That said- consider bringing imagery you are attracted to. Maybe it is photos of family, faces  or people or nature or abstract shapes… Maybe it is old prints you have kicking around. Terry will send an email to you when you register with size information for each structure so you can plan what size of imagery to bring. Terry will have lots of collage fodder for you to use.
