Montreal CI Workshops with Ming Tsai 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
Center is the central point of an object, of a body, where all vertices of weight reconvene with minimal efforts. It's a fundamental skill used in Contact Improvisation to communicate and perceive the constant change of our impulses, desires, and dangers.
How do we describe an intangible thing to ourselves and our partners? Can we be in control of where our center is? What do triangles tell us about our center?
In February, we will explore "Centering" on two occasions. In the first workshop (8th), we will observe center through rolling points of contact from different angles with different objects. The second workshop (22nd) we will expand our peripheral vision to explore the relationship between triangles, our center, and our partners' centers.
Both workshops will be all-level and minimal verbal instructions. The intention to offer these workshops is to build safe landing skills and expand our capacity to spontaneous flying.
