Constructing Textual Homes in Landscapes of Rhetorical Belonging: Autoethnography and Archival Research in Ethnic Studies Pedagogy

This pedagogical workshop explores archival research writing and autoethnography as genres that advance epistemological freedoms, rhetorical sovereignty, and emotions of belonging. By joining scholarship in student-centered composition and ethnic studies pedagogies, our primary goal is to locate opportunities for students to tap into themselves as living, shifting embodied archives with potential to generate valuable knowledge within academic classrooms and one’s community and home.
