Led by pianist Connie Rottier-Thompson, Constants is a jazz project dedicated to elevating local talent and creating unforgettable music. This special performance pays tribute to Duke Ellington, spanning the full scope of his legendary career—from his iconic 1930s and '40s compositions to his triumphant 1960s revival.
A Wisconsin native, Connie honed her craft in Chicago, performing across the city's famed clubs and venues. Joining her is Jacob Swedlow, bandleader of the LabRats, who brings original arrangements to the stage. Together, they have crafted a show you won't want to miss.

The Center for Musical Arts proudly presents our "at the Center" concert series, where our goal is to give Sacramento musicians the event space they deserve. Music school by day, concert venue by night—our listening room features a stage, baby grand piano, and an intimate 30-seat capacity.
