From the rhythmic intricacy of Machaut and Ciconia, through the lyrical chansons of Binchois, and on into the flowering of the Renaissance with music by Isaac, Willaert, Clemens non papa, Susato, and Crecquillon.
The journey concludes with Vaet’s moving lament on the death of Clemens non papa — a work of striking beauty and depth.
