About this Event
Join Australian Plant Society - Cardinia Region to hear from Steve Meacher, a passionate conservationist who has fought long and hard to protect Victoria’s fauna emblem: the critically endangered Leadbeater’s possum and its habitat. This small feisty little possum primarily lives near Melbourne in the Mountain Ash forests of the Central highlands of Victoria.
Steve is President of the Friends of the Leadbeater’s Possum. He will inform us about the major threats to the Leadbeater’s Possum, why it is Victoria’s faunal emblem and how we can help to stop it from becoming extinct. Steve is a warm and engaging speaker and we encourage anyone who cares about our forests and all the creatures who depend on them to come along. All ages welcome!
