Becky Diaz is a local registered nurse and nurse practitioner. She has spent her life in service to others; often neglecting herself in the process. As a young child, she experienced chronic anxiety and stress, which continued and compiled over the years. This led to a myriad of issues including dissociation, insomnia, brain fog, significant digestion issues, palpitations, depression, random pains, and overall disconnection with others and life. She often found herself numbing out with TV, food, and social media. In 2020, Becky realized something was wrong and things needed to change. She spent a lot of time learning and applying skills to reduce stress, which all helped a little, but something was still missing. She felt a pull towards somatic work and impulsively signed up for an instructor training that combined somatic movements with ecstatic dance. This training completely shifted the course of her life – she learned how to release old tension/trauma, how to express herself, and stay present in her body with unpleasant sensations. She also learned how to provide herself with the self-care needed to continue to serve. Becky knew this powerful modality had to be shared! The SAH Method™ (Somatic Activated Healing) is a combination of simple choreography, breathwork, intentions, and ecstatic dance. With well-planned music and rhythms, this helps to release old patterns, dense energy, and tension. Becky is presently the only SAH Method™ teacher in Tucson and is excited to offer aspects throughout the conscious dance events that @InTuneTucson will be hosting!
We are excited to connect with you on the 12th <3
