A Psychological and Educational Intervention for Fear of Cancer Recurrence.
About this Event

Fear of Cancer Recurrence (FCR) is an important clinical concern for many cancer survivors which presents at varied levels, impacting many aspects of an individual’s life.

The experience of FCR differs from common psychological problems in that it is inextricably linked with survival and existential issues.

The Conquer Fear intervention is a five session, theoretically-based, psychological therapy supported by a therapy manual. It has been shown to reduce FCR in cancer survivors with high levels of FCR with these reductions sustained over time.

During this three-hour workshop, Registered or Clinical Psychologists will:

  • Learn the theoretical basis for the Conquer Fear intervention
  • Understand the role of formulation in Conquer Fear
  • Practice strategies and techniques incorporated into the therapeutic sessions
  • Develop confidence in using Conquer Fear clinically

If you are a practicing Registered or Clinical Psychologist in Australia and would like to undertake this free face to face training, please 'Reserve a spot' to register. We look forward to seeing you on 24 June.
