Amber Carter is the founder of LoudMouth Merch, a Lafayette-based, full-service promotional products and brand marketing company.
After graduating from USL, Amber left home to “find her wings.” During the next 30 years, her journey took her to several major cities, including Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., and Atlanta—as well as Nassau, Bahamas, serving a stint as a Missionary.
Most recently, Amber lived in Atlanta, where she built a successful 15-year corporate career at Cox Communications in business development and affiliate relations. Through her work, she developed extensive experience in strategic partnerships, media, and relationship-building—learning how to connect organizations with the audiences they serve while cultivating meaningful relationships across diverse industries and communities. During her time at Cox, Amber won an Emmy Award for her work co-developing a media platform that created over a billion dollar in revenue for the media industry.
Amber affectionately describes herself as a “corporate gypsy.” When she decided it was finally time to slow down, she returned home to her beloved “Big Town” of Lafayette. Unfortunately—or perhaps fortunately—life had other plans.
Today, as the founder of LoudMouth Merch, Amber applies the same strategic thinking, creativity, and collaborative spirit that shaped her corporate career. She helps businesses, nonprofits, and civic organizations strengthen their brands through creative storytelling, culturally relevant promotional products, and innovative marketing.
Her decision to return home was also rooted in a desire to make a lasting impact in the community that helped shape her. Most recently, her company hosted more than 200 women at the Acadiana Center for the Arts for a screening of the documentary RATIFIED. The film chronicles the century-long fight to secure equal rights for women in the United States. The screening was followed by a courageous panel discussion examining the progress women have made—and the work that remains—in Lafayette’s business and civic landscapes.
Amber’s journey reminds us that a pivot is not always a departure from the plan. Sometimes, it is the path that leads us more fully into our purpose.
