Join us for an experiential workshop where horses serve as partners in reflection, inviting greater presence, awareness, and personal growth
About this Event

Together, we'll:

  • Explore self-confidence in a space that encourages curiosity over judgment.
  • Increase self-awareness through reflection and experiential learning.
  • Experience the unique presence and honest, moment-to-moment feedback that horses naturally offer.
  • Engage in safe, guided, ground-based activities at your own comfort level.

Whether you're new to horses or have spent time around them before, you're welcome just as you are. Additional workshop details, including what to bring, will be shared after registration.

About your hosts:

Christi Piker, MA,LPC
Lotus Blooming Out LLC

I'm a therapist by training, but at my core I'm someone who is drawn to the ways people connect—with themselves, with others, with nature, and with animals. My love for animals has been a lifelong part of who I am, and over the past several years I've had the opportunity to deepen that connection through learning alongside horses.

Working with horses has expanded the way I think about presence, communication, and relationships. While I'm still growing in my understanding of equine-supported practices, I'm grateful to partner with experienced equine professionals and continue learning from both the horses and the people who know them well.

This workshop is an educational and experiential opportunity to explore and connect in a supportive community setting. It is not psychotherapy, and because it takes place in a public environment, confidentiality cannot be guaranteed.

I'm honored to share this experience with Laughing Buck Farm, Meg, and everyone who chooses to join us.

Meg Schatte:
Theraputic Riding Instructor and Equine Specialist

Hi. My name is Meg Schatte, after growing up with a psychiatrist for a mother I learned the importance of mental health early on. Additionally I developed a passion for animal behavior after riding horses since I was 3 years old. These interests combined when I earned my Master’s under Temple Grandin at CSU. I learned about therapeutic riding as well and the many beneficial effects it has on different populations from at risk youth, to children and adults with physical, cognitive, and emotional disabilities. Currently I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience of equine behavior both on the ground and on horse back to any variety of student. I look forward to guiding and supporting each of you as you connect with my horse, Opal, among other therapeutic horses in our herd.
