John Ball Zoo’s Habitat Hero program engages local communities by giving away a variety of native trees, shrubs, and wildflowers. This program will outline the different types of animal pollinators commonly found in West Michigan with special attention to our native bees and butterflies. It will also include descriptions of some of the plants best suited to support each group of pollinators including specific examples ideal for home gardens. The program is FREE; registration is not required.
All ages are welcome, but the content is oriented toward adult beginners.
This program is held in partnership with the John Ball Zoo. This is the final of the inaugural Gardening for Wildlife Spring Speaker Series, part of the Growing a Greener Grandville effort which aims to make the community more welcoming for all of Nature as well as us humans.
