Connecting Nature on the Crosstown Trails

We’ll meet at Duboce Park at the N Judah Muni stop on the Double Cross Trail and end at 16th and Judah on the original Crosstown Trail (also on the N Judah Muni line). The walk will be book-ended by two nature habitats stewarded by Nature in the City: Adah’s Stairway and the Green Hairstreak Butterfly Corridor. In between we’ll climb hills and take in the views from Buena Vista Park and Tank Hill. We’ll “go rogue” off the official Trails to visit Mt. Sutro, stewarded by Sutro Stewards, and Garden for the Environment, two amazing nature and education organizations that make up Sunset Nature Advocacy Partners with Nature in the City.

Expect hiking on secret stairs, dirt trails, and sidewalks, about 6 miles and 1,000 feet total elevation gain. Bring water and snacks or lunch and of course, sun protection and layers. Restrooms at start and along the way.
