Connecticut Fantasy Writers Collective | Chat + Write In

Join the new Connecticut Fantasy Writers Collective for chats, new writing friends, and writing time! All levels welcome, from published authors to those considering getting started for the first time. No matter where you are on your writing journey, you are welcome here. This is a free event, but please RSVP so we know around how many folks to expect.

Chatting at the Velvet Mill: 22 Bayview Ave, Stonington, CT 06378

From 11:30am-1:30pm we will meet at the Velvet Mill in Stonington. The Velvet Mill is a large indoor marketplace, full of vendors, shops, and cafes. Grab a bite to eat, and meet us at the tables and couches by the Borough Bagel Co. Follow the bagel signs, and we'll have a little table sign! This is the time to socialize, talk about writing, recommend books, authors, and talk craft. The Velvet Mill has options for pizza, soups, crepes, coffees, sandwiches, empanadas and more. There are several gluten free and dairy free options around. Come hang out!

Writing at the Mystic Noank Library: 40 Library St, Mystic, CT 06355

Then, from 1:30pm on, we'll head about 10 minutes down the road to the beautiful Noank Library, to write in the quiet and cozy. Please note, for those who have allergies, there are two resident cats at this library! We'll gather here to write. The library is open until 5pm. We aim for this to be a monthly occurance, switching up the location to different areas around CT!

I'm a total beginner, can I join? Yes, of course! Every single person here was also once a total beginner.

I love fantasy writing, but I'm working on another genre right now. Can I come? Yes!

Do I have to come to both parts? Either, or both! We have both a social element and a writing element, and you can join in whatever is right for you.

I'm from outside CT, can I come? Of course! We're right on the border of RI, and if you're in town and interested, come on over.

Is this an LGBTQ+ inclusive crowd? Very much so!

Who is organizing this? Three fantasy writer friends, who all met at fantasy events: Kaitrin Acuna, Rachel Patiño, and Sam Traunfeld.
