Une conférence par Rayshad Dorsey, Hi’ilei Hobart and Jake Hobart
Issu de l’édition inaugurale 2026 du Programme de bourses de recherche CCA–WRI, cet événement réunit Rayshad Dorsey, Hi‘ilei Hobart et Jake Hobart, qui présenteront leurs approches respectives des processus sociaux et juridiques complexes à l’origine des conditions contemporaines de vacance urbaine à Saint-Louis et Honolulu.
Leur conversation présentera des éléments issus d’un travail de terrain exploratoire mené dans les deux villes, tout en mettant en lumière leur engagement avec la Collection du CCA à travers les œuvres de Gordon Matta-Clark, Cornelia Hahn Oberlander et d’autres.
À travers leurs interventions et spéculations sur le plan du design, la vacance devient une condition ouverte et invitante, qui exige une écoute attentive des expériences communautaires ainsi que des histoires liées au territoire, au déplacement et au sentiment d’appartenance.
La conférence sera présentée en anglais.
Cet événement est gratuit et ouvert au public, mais le nombre de places étant limité, l’inscription est obligatoire. L’entrée au musée est incluse dans l’inscription.

A Lecture by Rayshad Dorsey, Hi’ilei Hobart and Jake Hobart
Emerging from the 2026 and inaugural edition of the CCA-WRI Research Fellowship Program, join Rayshad Dorsey, Hi’ilei Hobart and Jake Hobart as they discuss their approaches to the complex social and legal processes that determine contemporary conditions of vacancy in St. Louis and Honolulu.
Their conversation will share materials from exploratory fieldwork in both cities, as well as surface engagement with the CCA’s Collection through the work of Gordon Matta-Clark, Cornelia Hahn Oberlander, and others.
Vacancy, through their active design interventions and speculations, becomes an invitational condition that demands listening to community experiences and histories of land, displacement, and belonging.
The conference will be presented in English.
This event is free and open to the public, but space is limited, so registration is required. Admission to the museum is included with your registration.
