Confronting Monsters: Adult Survivors of Childhood Sexual Assault
About this Event
Confronting Monsters: Adult Survivors of Childhood Sexual Assault
This workshop will be a space to discuss and explore lingering angst and trauma from childhood sexual assault. FiIm clips and music may be incorporated with writing exercises. Discussion prompts to begin with are: How do I heal? How do I forgive? How do I get rid of this rage? How do I move forward?
Self-Care practices will also be discussed within the gooup.
Due to the extremely sensitive nature of this workshop, there will be no recording. If you need to use your phone, you will be asked to step out of the room to do so.
“Trauma” is an overwhelming, perhaps incomprehensible, wound, shock, injury or violation that's difficult to process emotionally, psychologically or physically. This workshop will walk you through processes and practices to reduce the weight of traumatic burdens so you no longer feel bound or overwhelmed.
Our suggested self-care practices are selected to help you help yourself over time. To get you to a point of actively nurturing yourself with grace.
NOTE:
LaShawnda Jones has been writing through her healing for over 40 years. She's been publishing her writing for 20 years. Her books exploring how she has grappled with life, herself, relationships, and people in general are available for purchase. Purchase is not required for this workshop.
