Conflict Management and Personal Safety Awareness Training

Aim: To provide staff with the knowledge, understanding and skills to be better able to identify, defuse and de-escalate conflict. Also to minimise the risk of injury to both themselves and other persons by utilising a range of effective communications, personal management and safe exit strategies.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the lesson delegates will be better able to;

1. Understand the definition of Violence in the Workplace

2. Understand the concept of situation awareness

3. Recognise warning signs and danger sign relevant to potential conflict

4. Describe systems of communication in relation to conflict management

5. Describe conflict resolution options to a range of potentially dangerous situations

6. Apply personal management strategies to minimise risk and defuse aggression

7. Identify when and how to exit from potentially dangerous situations

8. Demonstrate a range of effective breakaway techniques (optional)
