About this Event
Fair Housing Advocates of Northern California presents: “Successfully Housing People with Disabilities" – An Interactive Conference on Fair Housing Law and Reasonable Accommodations.
The conference offers an overview of federal and state fair housing laws, followed by small group discussions to help find practical solutions to commonly asked questions from housing providers, service providers, and tenants on reasonable accommodations for people with disabilities during the application, occupancy, and eviction stages. The break-out sessions are interactive, and attendees are expected to actively participate.
The conference is appropriate for:
· Rental housing providers in the public and private sectors
· Resident & property managers
· Staff of assisted living facilities
· Service providers and advocates, including fair housing staff
· Attorneys and legal services staff
· Tenants with disabilities, or anyone who works with persons with special needs
Important details:
Pre-registration is required (no walk-ins, please). Registration deadline: February 24. Full refunds for cancelations up to February 24. Scholarships for tenants with disabilities available. Buffet lunch will be provided.
You will receive important instructions and materials: prior to the conference (including the program, handouts needed for the workshop, menu, and directions to the venue that are more accurate than the GPS).
