One of the Confederate Army of Tennessee's greatest strengths was its cavalry. Troopers in gray gathered information, forestalled enemy attempts to penetrate their lines and inflicted heavy damage to the Union supply system. Join park rangers and volunteers as they present demonstrations of cavalry tactics and discuss how the successes and failures of the Confederate cavalry proved crucial to the ultimate outcome of the three Civil War battles at Murfreesboro, Tennessee: Forrest's Raid (July 13, 1862), the Battle of Stones River, and the Battle of the Cedars (December 7, 1864).Demonstrations will take place at 11 AM and 2 PM.
