COURSE INFORMATION
Conductive Energy Weapon (CEW) Operator is 6 hours of comprehensive training specifically designed for Law Enforcement, Security Officers, and other industry professionals as well as the general public. You will gain detailed information in the use of the Conductive Energy Weapon, commonly known as Tazer and/or or PhaZZer. This course covers all aspects involved in the preparation, deployment, storage, use of force, and legal ramifications regarding the use of all CEW products
At the completion of class, students who demonstrate a clear understanding of the material, and techniques are presented with certificate of completion.
This Class is taught by a CEW Certified Instructor / OPOTA Instructor
* Minimum Class size must be met to hold class.
*Note: Students should be in good physical condition to participate in this course.
*No student will tased- Deployment of weapon at dummy only.
TOPICS COVERED
-The use of force and the application of less lethal force
-The effects of the introduction of Conductive Enegey on the body
-The difference between NMI (Neuro-muscular incapacitation) and pain compliance
-Probe placement in the body and understand the effects
-Aiming process, trajectory, and discharging of the PhaZZer
-Loading, unloading, and reloading quickly and safely under stress
-Transitioning through force options, quickly and smoothly
-Associated risks with the use of a (CEW) Conductive Electric Weapon
-The types of cartridges the weapon can deplo
-Deployment scenarios, and why this is the future of controlling behavior

OPOTA Rescheduling Policy
This policy applies to OPOTA Courses offered by Action Defense
RESCHEDULING: While we do not offer refunds, we will be happy to reschedule your class when you provide us with at least 48 hours notice before your scheduled class begins. *Rescheduling is subject to seating availability and/or discretion of Action Defense. *Rescheduling fee of 50% of your enrollment cost will apply with less than 48 days' notice. * Limit one reschedule per ticket.
MISSED CLASS: Should you miss your class, (or any portion of your class) without advanced notice or are a "no-call-no-show" you will forfeit 100% of your enrollment fee. There are no refunds on enrollment fees for missed classes. A class is considered missed if notification is received on or after the date of your class.
LATE ARRIVALS: You must be on time to your scheduled class and to the range. The State of Ohio sets forth time requirements that need to be met by each student and by Action Defense. Classes will begin promptly at the scheduled time, students arriving late will be asked to reschedule, and will forfeit 100% of their enrollment fee. Due to state requirements, we cannot allow exceptions to this policy for any reason. We are glad to discuss this with you. *PLEASE NOTE: this includes being late from breaks and/or lunches, and applies to each day of your course.
COURSE FAILURE OR DISMISSAL: There are no refunds for enrollment or supply fees should the student fail the class or be dismissed for any other reason. Should the student decide to make a future attempts at passing by enrolling into another class, they must pay the standard cost of enrollment and supplies/ rentals (if you need them)
CLASS CANCELLATIONS: Action Defense reserves the right to cancel any class due to enrollment, inclement weather or any other reason. In the event of a cancellation, students will be notified by email, and options for refunds or rescheduling will be provided.
