Can you help us make music with carrots, or a game controller with playdoh... How about switching on an LED with a banana?
In this workshop, we'll be playing with an ingenious little device called Makey Makey that allows us to connect everyday items to a computer! BUT do they conduct enough electricity to allow us to make music or play games?
We'll be experimenting with lots of everyday items from fab fruits to funky furniture to see how well they conduct electricity.
This is a lively science and computing-based workshop for younger children. It's fun and teaches the principles of circuits, resistance, and conductivity.
The session is aimed at children aged 7 years and older and is ideal for children at the KS2 level.
This workshop session is priced at £21 and includes the admission price of 1 child with an accompanying adult to the museum. For participants aged 14 or under, we require an accompanying adult to attend the workshop alongside them.
Date: Wednesday 29th July 2026
Time: 11 am - 12 pm
Please note that we will be using our classroom kits for the session and you will not be able to take these away at the end.
This workshop will start at 11 am promptly, so please arrive at least 15 minutes early.
