Join Concertmaster Daniel Szasz and a remarkable string ensemble for an evening of haunting beauty and emotional intensity in Death and the Maiden, part of the Concertmaster & Friends series.The program opens with selections from Gesualdo’s Madrigals, Book 6 — reimagined for string quartet, full of expressive tension and Renaissance intrigue. It culminates with Schubert’s iconic String Quartet in D Minor, “Death and the Maiden”, a powerful and dramatic work that confronts mortality with gripping intensity and lyrical grace.
