Music lovers! Soak up energizing uplifting sounds of the Voices of Hope Community Chorus a choir of breast cancer survivors. Fall concerts: Sat Nov. 15 (Glenview) and Sun Nov. 16 (Oak Park).
Music lovers can soak up the energizing and uplifting sounds of the Voices of Hope Community Chorus at the group’s upcoming fall concerts on Saturday Nov. 15 in Glenview and Sunday Nov. 16 in Oak Park. This marks the third season of this unique breast cancer support choir.
Carrying the theme of “Simple Gifts: Songs of Strength Hope & Courage” the program features a mix of melodies including folk music show tunes songs from the Beatles Motown and the disco era as well as contemporary artists. The selections are aimed at lending courage in the face of challenge providing the inspiration to reach for dreams and reminding us to savor what makes life sweet.
The 60+ members of Voices of Hope each touched in some way by breast cancer sing to convey their message of joy and support to their audience as well as to each other. Attesting to that several audience members have joined the chorus after attending a moving VOH concert.
Artistic director Kevin Kelly who has led the chorus since its inception is dedicated to presenting audience-pleasing repertoires that showcase a variety of genres. Known for a vibe that is both soul-stirring as well as upbeat and fun Voices of Hope concerts emphasize “popular music” from various eras ranging from present time to decades earlier and even occasionally to the 1800s.
As an offshoot of its mission Voices of Hope donates a portion of tickets sales from each concert to organizations supporting breast cancer patients and their families and/or involved in breast cancer research.

About Voices of Hope Community Chorus
The Voices of Hope Community Chorus is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created to foster a caring community of singers who celebrate the joy of music and embrace hope support and friendship for those whose lives have been touched by breast cancer. Founded in August 2023 the non-auditioned chorus includes more than 60 singers many of whom are breast cancer survivors. Singers comes from all over Chicagoland. Rehearsals take place on Thursday nights at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Park Ridge Illinois. The chorus is financially sustained by membership dues concert receipts donations and grants from the Illinois Arts Council. It is not associated with any particular religion or religious beliefs.
