About this Event
Il faut plus de musique dans le monde, et il faut plus de femmes en musique !
Nous présenterons lors de ce concert des œuvres de quelques-unes des brillantes créatrices qui ont marqué la musique classique au fil des deux derniers siècles : Fanny Mendelssohn-Hensel, compositrice et pianiste allemande du début de la période romantique; Lili Boulanger, compositrice française, et Amy Beach, compositrice et pianiste américaine, toutes deux très prolifiques au tournant du 20e siècle; et Alexina Louie et Cecilia Livingston, deux grandes compositrices canadiennes de l’ère contemporaine.
Les pièces seront interprétées par des vedettes montantes et des récipiendaires de bourses de l’Université. Nous rendrons également hommage à nos exceptionnelles donatrices de bourses, des femmes de tous horizons qui ont en commun le désir de soutenir la musique et les arts.
Joignez-vous à nous et à notre animatrice, Julie Pedneault-Deslauriers, qui présentera les œuvres et les femmes fascinantes qui les ont créées.
