About this Event

We open Season 11 at J. Christopher Wines/Appassionata Estate and our signature Composer-in-Residence weekend. Composer Lei Liang will be with us in the gorgeous acoustic of the J. Christopher barrel room, and we will feature two of his works, the spellbinding Gobi Gloria, and a portion of 6 Seasons, which he developed in collaboration with oceanographers to explore complex and rarely heard undersea soundscapes of the Alaskan sea floor. We will also perform the West Coast premiere of This Is It, part 3, by Reena Esmail (who you may know and love from our 2022 Season). Finally, we conclude with the youthful exuberance of Beethoven’s String Quartet Op.18 No.2. A proper way to launch the summer!

Admission includes a complementary three wine tasting specially paired to the musical program. Ticket price is inclusive of all fees.

Following the concert, food and additional wine will be available for purchase to enjoy on the beautiful terrace of Appassionata Estate.
