Hand-Building Pottery workshop led by Beth Bowman

Beth Bowman crafts functional clay-ware that reflects a minimal aesthetic. In this workshop, you will connect with the element of earth and learn clay hand-building techniques to create a unique stoneware vessel. Long Beach-based full-service ceramics studio, Clay on First, has generously donated their kiln firing services, turning your work into functional, waterproof, and microwave/dishwasher-safe pottery. Pieces will be ready for pick-up at Compound three weeks after the workshop.

Compound’s Art For All is a series of hands-on workshops that teach various artistic mediums and encourages a new way of making art that’s fun and engaging for the whole family. Participants will be able to learn drawing, collage, painting, performance, sculpture, ceramics, music-making, and much more.

Art for All takes place Sundays from 11:00am - 1:00pm. Please arrive 30 minutes before the workshop begins to reserve your seat. Reservations are required. Coffee will be available to purchase from Union at Compound. Art supplies are provided. No previous art-making experience necessary.
