About this Event
Want to keep your food scraps out of the landfill? Curious about compost?
Join Bill of Farmer Pirates Compost, a worker-owned cooperative, to learn the science behind “black gold,” how to start composting at home, and ways to get involved in community composting efforts across Buffalo.
Farmer Pirates is also the Co-op’s compost partner, helping us divert nearly all of our organic material from the landfill. Combined with our food rescue efforts, where edible but unsellable food is donated daily, this work is part of our commitment to reducing waste and building a more sustainable local food system.
You'll also learn how you can participate in Farmer Pirates Neighborhood Drop-Off Program with a bin conveniently located in our Hertel Ave parking lot.
This event is free and open to all! Light refreshments provided.
