Compost Caravan - Sacramento
About this Event
On November 10th, the Compost Caravan is coming to Sacramento!
California needs to save water, expand regenerative agriculture, and cool our cities - compost is here to help.
Join us at Soil Born Farms to see compost in action. We’ll have a delicious lunch and activating discussions about how compost can help achieve multiple statewide policy goals while fostering local resilience and abundance.
9:00 am: Meet at Soil Born Farms
- Check in, plus coffee and breakfast snacks for attendees. At 9:30, ACP and PFL will welcome attendees and provide an overview of the day.
10:00 am - 12:30: Farm Tour
- On the farm tour, we will stop at different stations that will highlight water conservation and watershed resilience, the healthy soil and healthy food connection, and urban greening initiatives that can drive economic opportunity. Each stop will allow for both presentation by speakers and questions from the audience.
1:00 pm - 2:00 pm: Lunch
- Lunch is provided for all attendees. During lunch, we'll encourage informal discussions, and distribute educational resources. The event will conclude at 2 pm.
Along the way, you'll meet jurisdiction representatives, landscapers, urban gardeners, composters and compost lovers of all shapes and sizes. Come participate in the conversations that are building a circular and regenerative economy in Sacramento.
