STUDENT COMPOSERS
We are delighted to announce that our student composition competition is now open for entries!! We are looking for a 2 to 3 minute piece to represent the beginning of someone’s life story, so it should be energetic and inspiring!
The winning composition will be performed at the 2026 UniBrass Championships, and the composer will be invited to trial any new ideas with the band across the year in a development role to be tailored to the needs and interests of the winning composer.
Don’t be put off if you’ve never composed for a brass band before, as on our information sheet we have compiled some guides to writing for this amazing type of ensemble, and our conductor and committee are on hand to answer any questions! The deadline for applying is October 12th 2025.
