Are you seeking kindness and acceptance in your relationships as you authentically express your views, feelings and needs?
Are you wanting to be able to listen deeply with genuine understanding to difficult messages, ie, another’s pain or seemingly critical comments?
At its heart, Compassionate Communication or Nonviolent Communication (NVC) grounds us in self connection and compassionate acceptance of others without condoning behavior. With this grounding, we are more able to be present in our lives.
In this five-session class, you will learn the four-step process that promotes more connection in our everyday work and family lives. It helps us stay self-connected and other-connected when we or they are feeling angry, overwhelmed and anxious, or sad.
The first three classes include some formal presentation, class discussion, and interactive exercises. Classes four and five will be devoted to bringing what you’re learning to daily life.
To fully benefit from this class, we strongly suggest you read "Nonviolent Communication: A Language of Life," by Marshall Rosenberg, PhD, in its entirety before the class begins.
Christine brings 60 years experience as a clinician and 25 years of Nonviolent Communication (NVC) practice to her teaching. She sees NVC as a spiritual practice.
FEE: $125 per person. Pre-registration required.
