Compassion United Transitional Homes Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting

Compassion United will host a ribbon cutting ceremony for two new transitional living homes on Monday, July 13, 2026, at 1:00 p.m.
About this Event

The new homes will expand Compassion United's Transitional Housing Program, which has served individuals recovering from homelessness and addiction for more than 15 years. When opened, the homes will provide housing for 16 men and 16 women, along with dedicated house managers.

The original housing program was established in part through the support of Mr. Tony Gullo. Construction of the new on-campus homes was made possible through partnerships with Highland Homes, HomeAid Houston, the Greater Houston Builders Association, the Gullo Family Foundation, Quest Engineering, and numerous community partners and private donors.

Compassion United has hosted a Transitional Housing Program since 2010 and has experienced a long-term sobriety success rate of more than 90 percent, helping residents build stable, independent lives through housing, recovery support, and life-skills development. These new homes will increase the capacity of the already successful program.

Community members, partners, donors, elected officials, and media representatives are invited to attend the ceremony and tour the new facilities.
