Join us for the First Annual CommunityGro Summer Social, a fundraiser celebrating with creativity, community, and local food.
The CommunityGro Summer Social is free to attend. Registration is only required if you are participating in the cardboard boat race or sidewalk chalk competition.
The event features two competitions taking place simultaneously: a cardboard boat race and a sidewalk chalk competition. Because both competitions occur at the same time, participants may register for one competition only.
The sidewalk chalk competition includes Professional and Novice divisions with prizes awarded in each division.
The cardboard boat race features Community, Business, and Youth team divisions. Teams will compete for trophies recognizing the Fastest Boat, Most Creative Boat, and The Titanic Award, with the Fastest Boat also receiving the event's grand prize.
Proceeds from the CommunityGro Summer Social help CommunityGro support neighborhood gardens and orchards, provide free gardening and cooking workshops, sharing tools and resources with the community, and expand access to free fresh food throughout Galesburg.
