Community Yoga at Above

Ready to melt away the stress of your workday? Enjoy the sparkling city lights of Old Town in our premiere penthouse evnt space while moving your body for a cause! We've partnered with founding member Ky Washington from Modern Green Goddess to bring you a monthly yoga class. This class is open to both members and the public, and all proceeds will be passed to support the free yoga programming that Move2Learn offers in our local public middle schools. Enjoy 360 views of Old Town and the surrrounding hisoric sights before and after class!

This class is designed for all levels of yoga experience, and Ky is committed to ensuring the class is inclusive, body-positive, and will offer modifications to those that need them.

More on Ky: Ky Washington is a celebrity makeup artist, skincare expert, aromatherapist and body positive yoga teacher. She is the founder of Clean Lifestyle brand Modern Green Goddess. Ky is also the co-founder of Clean Beauty Artists, a clean beauty agency that offers professional service in the DC and New York areas, with new locations on the horizon. She is currently an artist with Disney. Though Ky works with many in the TV and film industry, she and her team give everyone the celebrity treatment. In addition to her TV work, Ky also teaches group and private classes on clean beauty, mind/body exercise and aromatherapy. She also has weekly online yoga classes and an online clean beauty and wellness show so make sure to follow her on instagram and you tube.

More on Move2Learn: From elementary to high school, Move2Learn develops programs to bring the key element of movement to help students learn their best. That's because studies show that when students are active, they feel and learn better. To date, tens of thousands of Alexandria public school students have been served through our diverse and proven programming. M2L is the only organization in the region that offers this robust free programming and equipment to students to keep them moving and learning at their best. Our main programs include our Active Seating packages, Outside the Classroom initiatives and our Social, Emotional and Academic (SEAL) learning lessons. Active seating gives students the freedom to move about at their desks while doing class work is a great way to increase focus to help them stay on task. It's also a critical tool that gives students the power to overcome feelings that get in their way of learning, to promote social and emotional learning. Our one-of-a-kind Outside the Classroom programs have been a huge success. We have 20 before, during, and after school clubs in all grades that get more than 500 students to school on time and keep them there and engaged in learning.
