Community Workshop: Social Media, Connection & Creativity
About this Event
This event is hosted by , a local Brisbane community group that meets on the last Sunday of every month.
Gather events invite genuine connection with new people while creating opportunities to move, learn, grow, and create alongside like-minded individuals. Each event explores a different topic related to mental health and wellbeing, and this month we're focusing on social media.
We'll begin with a 45-minute guided conversation led by Alissa, Registered Counsellor and founder of Gather. Together, we'll explore how social media shapes the way we view ourselves, the world, and the people around us. Together, we'll explore practical tools to break the doomscrolling cycle so that we can step away from our devices and prioritise our real life experiences.
Following our group conversations, we'll get creative by building and painting our own phone boxes - a box where you can store your phone out of sight and out of mind to make more space for life offline. Along the way, you'll have the chance to meet new people, share meaningful conversations, and reconnect with what matters beyond the screen.
