Community Walking Audit - Saturday, June 6, 2026 (free)

We need your input! As part of our Vision Zero initiative, the Bellevue Transportation Department is evaluating potential safety improvements for all people on the street, especially people walking, rolling and biking along High Injury Network (HIN) streets, where most of the city’s fatal and serious injury collisions occur. These Road Safety Assessments (RSAs), which are being conducted along several HIN roadways within Bellevue, will document current roadway conditions and identify potential improvements.

This is where you come in. It is important for us to understand the experiences and observations of those who live, work and attend school in the area. An in-person “walking audit” of the roads, sidewalks and bicycle facilities will help us see what you see while traveling these streets. Your feedback will be used to improve safety and comfort for people who walk, roll, bike, drive and ride transit on these roadways.

Walking Audit: We will meet at the intersection of NE 8th Street and 116th Avenue NE and walk east to 120th Avenue NE, back to NE 8th Street, then north to NE 12th Street and back. Approximately one mile, with distance varying based on group size and walking pace.
