Community Walk

Come enjoy nature with us, in an autumnal community walk along Mississauga’s lakeshore! We will set out from the Small Arms Inspection Building and follow the Waterfront Trail toward the Jim Tovey Lakeview Conservation Area, taking in the changing landscape, fresh air and views of Lake Ontario along the way.

Pull on your comfiest shoes, grab your favourite beanie, and come spend some time outdoors with neighbours, friends and fellow community members. Feel free to bring along a sketchbook or camera if you’d like to capture a few moments from the walk or simply come as you are and enjoy the scenery and conversation.

This is a relaxed, social walk designed to give us a chance to slow down, connect with our surroundings and enjoy the waterfront together. All are welcome!

Short Itinerary

Begin: We will be meeting in the lobby of the Small Arms Inspection Building at 12:30

Walking: Our walk will take us to the Jim Tovey conservation area, approximately 60-90min.

Return: This walk will end back at the Small Arms Inspection Building, where you can use the facilities and refill your water bottles.

Additional notes: Please wear comfortable shoes, bring your reusable water bottles and consider bringing a sketchbook or camera.

Rain Plan

As this is an outdoor event, the walk is weather dependent. If the forecast suggests conditions may not be suitable, registered participants will be notified on Monday, November 9 of any potential rescheduling.

Depending on conditions, the event may be rescheduled or brought indoors at CreativeHub 1352 for a relaxed Community Social & Games gathering, featuring light group activities, games, and plenty of time to connect with others.
