About this Event
Ceres Policy Research, in partnership with the Chevron Richmond Refinery, is hosting a Community Town Hall to share updates on refinery operations, air quality, and regulatory changes that affect the Richmond community.
This meeting is part of an ongoing public engagement process tied to Chevron Richmond Refinery’s 2024 agreement with the Bay Area Air Quality Management District, which includes implementation of Regulation 6, Rule 5 (Rule 6-5) and related transparency measures.
This work is informed by the Community Action Plan developed in 2024 and continues to be shaped through ongoing input from a committee of local community members, focused on making information relevant and responsive to the needs of the Richmond community.
The session will include informational presentations from participating agencies and updates on publicly available air monitoring resources. Presentations will include MCE (Marin Clean Energy), a local community choice energy provider, which will provide an overview of new partnerships and programs available for community participation, and the Bay Area Air District (BAAD), which will share information on the Bay REPAIR (Reinvesting Penalties for Air Improvement and Resilience) program and the Local Community Benefits Fund, including funding opportunities, program goals, and how community members can learn more about and engage with available resources.
Topics will cover recent regulatory changes designed to improve clarity and consistency in refinery safety programs.
This session will provide general updates and give community members a chance to ask questions.
