Join us for a public lecture that explores the why and how of land conservation in the islands. 🗣️🏞️Together we’ll look at:
- The reasons conservation matters for our communities.
- How the San Juan Preservation Trust decides which properties to protect.
- How this work happens through partnerships, land acquisitions, and community support.
🧀 Light snacks, beverages, and hors d’oeuvres will be provided!
🗣️ About Our Presenter:
Kathleen Lewis has been with the San Juan Preservation Trust since 2005. As Director of Special Projects, she leads species recovery efforts for the Western Bluebird and Island Marble Butterfly, and played a key role in securing several conservation easements that now protect properties and public preserves throughout the San Juan Islands.
