Bring the whole family and join us for a fun afternoon of hands-on STEM learning with exhibitors from around the region. This event is FREE and you can drop in anytime from 1:30-4:30 PM. January's exhibitors include:
The Black Coalition for Excellence in Education: Engage in some fun cardboard engineering projects and see a simulation of neurons and their connection between touching natural items and reading books. Visitors will get to make their own stress balls.
Panda Programmer: Explore how to use Scratch coding language.
UMD Cyber-Physical Systems Engineering: See robotics in action with demonstrations that include the translation of speech to American Sign Language in real time, and a robotic hand that challenges students to a game of rock, paper, scissors.
MAD Science of Washington: Learn about principles of science with fun hands-on experiments.
Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection- Zero Waste Programs: Check out the worm bin and vermicomposting demo.
Lab Tech Systems: Visualize sound using a signal generator, microphone and oscilloscope.
Jim Rudert, Ph.D.: RSC's resident engineer has some exciting new demonstrations to share!
Explorer Post 1010 UAS4STEM Team: Rockville Science Center's award-winning high school drone team will display and explain their competition drones and payload mechanisms and provide a hands-on activity with a flight simulator.
Mechanical Masterminds Team: Learn about the FIRST Tech Challenge program and see robots in action.
