About this Event
Singing together in community is a form of soul-nourishment that many of us, in our modern, local culture, have gotten used to living without. With KW Connection Labs’ Community Song Circle, we’re contributing to a movement that seeks to change that.
These song circles will include both structured, improvised, and free-form sounding and song. They’re sung with the intention to raise our spirits and fill us with a sense of connectedness, well-being, gratitude, and all the good things. Guidance and lyrics will be provided, most songs will be sung acapella, and all levels of experience and inexperience are warmly welcomed.

This Sunday, our Song Circle will be led by Erwan Noblet--a very beautiful human being and seriously talented musician, vocalist, improvisor, and teacher. (Check out his Bio below)
Erwan will be introducing and guiding us through the practice and play of Circle Singing, a form of improvisational song crafting originally inspired by the work of Bobby McFerrin. My own experience with this--and the reason I asked Erwan to do a workshop with us--is that, putting it simply, Circle Singing is so much fun and feels so darn good to do. Music heals, especially when we're the one's creating it.
All levels are welcome! This is about rediscovering our voices, having fun, and tapping into our innate musical creativity. Come play with us!
ERWAN NOBLET is passionate about the infinite power of the human voice. He enjoys singing, acting, teaching, improvising, and exploring various body-voice approaches. He recently studied with vocal improvisers and pedagogues like Bobby Mc Ferrin, Rhiannon, and the Brazilian Música do Círculo Institute.Erwan facilitates workshops, teaches on various musician platforms, and owns his voice studio. He coaches professional artists, including famous artists such as Zaho de Sagazan, Pierre de Maere, and Voyou. In 2021, he started his Ph.D. at the International Institute for Critical Studies in Improvisation (IICSI) at the University of Guelph, researching the pedagogical benefits of integrating collective vocal improvisation as an interdisciplinary course in higher education. As an artist, he recently released the EP «ADN» under the name iwa.
