About this Event
Community solar is a way for multiple people to share the benefits of a solar system. It helps community members, renters, or anyone without a suitable roof or ability to install solar use solar energy and save money.
Dignity Village, Verde, and Twende Solar collaborated on an exciting project in Dignity Village and near by. Come learn about this project and how solar energy is powering local communities. There will be thought leaders from each of these impressive oganizations presenting at this showcase event.
Dignity Village was established in 2000 in Portland, Oregon. The village has grown into a self-governed community where residents live and share responsibilities for maintaining the space. In recent years, the village has embraced renewable energy. Solar panels have been installed across many of the rooftops, creating a shared energy system that provides electricity to individual homes and common buildings. This solar setup allows residents to power basic needs like lighting, small appliances, and phone charging, while reducing reliance on propane and lowering costs.
