Community Singing with Katie Sontag

Join us for a beautiful evening of community singing!

Community singing has been used in many cultures to gather, grieve, celebrate and experience life for centuries. Today, we come together to revive this tradition in the world we find ourselves in now with songs Katie, a seasoned songwriter and songleader, has written and led up and down the West Coast. Katie will teach songs call and echo. This is a secular space focused on songs that nourish and support a sense of community, belonging, and self love. There will be rounds, songs with different parts, harmonies and unison with any and all voices embraced, celebrated and welcomed. No experience necessary will all skill levels welcome and valued!

Katie Sontag (she/they) writes and teaches nourishing songs that heal and support us. Her welcoming, trusting presence provides her circles with a safe space to grieve, celebrate, feel and be authentically together. She is a true believer in the profound healing powers of music in community. Her prolific songwriting reminds us of simple yet profound truths. At Katie’s song circles, you will laugh, cry, make new friends, and feel better than when you came. Her music has been described as "a big hug." Katie’s songs have traveled all over the country and Canada. She is also a singer/songwriter, a seasoned performer and a music educator and has released 3 albums of original music and is currently working on her 4th.
