Community Scale Dye Equipment Design Jam

The Commercial Dye usually operates with Minimum Order Quantities of thousands of metres. The costs and quantities involved make it difficult for responsive, bespoke and pull production clothing economies to emerge. It forces, even well intentioned brands, into mass production ways of working.

At The Remakery, we're exploring future scales of making clothes, that don't generate huge quanitities of unwanted clothing, or of toxic waste products.

The next step is to design and install 'Community Scale' Dye equipment in our lab space.

By bringing together textiles practitioners and industrial designers, we can rethink the infrastructure that makes underpins one of the most polluting industries.
