Community Riverside Picnic

Join us for a relaxed afternoon by the River Alne, exploring, creating, learning and spending time together in nature.
We'll be gathering in a beautiful riverside setting with plenty of green space, parking, drinking water, toilets, and a shop selling coffee, ice creams and snacks.
We'll have:
• Riverside nature crafts
• Discovering river wildlife and learning about the plants and animals that call the river home
• Creative activities for children
• Bring-your-own picnic by the water
• Time to chat, play and enjoy nature together
• Optional Himalayan balsam pulling to help care for the river and its wildlife

What to bring:
• A picnic
• Suitable footwear for uneven ground
• Clothes for the weather
• Curiosity and a sense of adventure!
If you'd like to take part in the balsam pull, please also bring:
• Gardening gloves
• A bucket, trug or bag (if you have one)
• Long sleeves and trousers
We'll show you how to identify and remove Himalayan balsam safely. You're welcome to join in for a few minutes or for longer.
All ages welcome. Children remain the responsibility of their accompanying adult.
