About this Event

The Community Research Exchange (CRX) is back for 2025, with a new programme investigating place through the lenses of climate, community wealth and culture. Join us for three days of talks, workshops, and performances which explore the impact of the climate crisis on our neighbourhoods, how we can build – and keep – wealth within local communities, and the role of culture in forging identity and belonging.

🌱 Day 1: Climate

Join us to explore what 'place-making' means in practice, how the climate crisis impacts local people, and the work being done in our community to tackle it. We'll hear from experts in architecture, creative approaches to reclaiming the climate discourse, and how exchanges between rural areas and urban centres can encourage young people to embed regenerative practice within their local spaces.

πŸŒ‡ Day 2: Community Wealth Building

The second day of the CRX introduces key voices in the community wealth building arena, exploring why it is more important than ever to retain and reclaim space for future generations. We'll hear from creative practitioners using storytelling to navigate complex discourses around gentrification and Lambeth-based initiatives working to combat it.

🎨 Day 3: Culture

Our final day of the CRX will explore how culture shapes places, how it can tell the story of communities past and present, and be used as tool for shaping identity and building belonding. Hosted by Place Literacy, book a special place at our Community Meal to share your experiences and memories of Brixton Station Road over food. Stay on for music and to celebrate the impact of different cultures on the sound and rythmn of Brixton.
