Join us for a discussion of our fall community read, The Auburn Conference by Tom Piazza. Imagine late 19th century literary greats- Mark Twain, Frederick Douglass, Herman Melville, Walt Whitman, Harriet Beecher Stowe- coming together in Auburn NY for a public discussion on the future of the nation, covering topics of race, class, gender, and the fate of the democratic ideal. Howard Nelson, poet & professor at Cayuga Community College, will facilitate the discussion. Copies of the book will be available to borrow at Seymour Library starting in October. If you are interested in reserving a copy to borrow, please call the library at 315-252-2571.
Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of Seymour Library.
