Greetings Community Members,
This is an official call to action from your NAACP Unit 1134 Branch.
In light of the increasing incidences of hateful rhetoric, voter suppression, the distortion of Black History, and other various challenges affecting our community, it is imperative that we take a stand.
We are organizing a community rally on April 4th, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Norm Dicks Building (345 6th St., Bremerton, WA 98337). The rally will be held in the Norm Dicks Plaza off 5th Street.
Participants are encouraged to bring signs to protest against hate, systemic racism, inequality, the misrepresentation of Black history, the unfair treatment of undocumented community members, rollbacks on diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, the lack of diversity within our local governmental departments, disparities in healthcare, housing issues, and biases within the criminal justice system.
As Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said, "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere."
We invite all our community partners to stand in solidarity with us as we advocate for justice and equality.
